The design of these doesn’t allow one to wear them without socks. I bought them for a vacation and came home with a bloody ankle from the constant chafing of the back of the shoe on the back of my ankleThis is my second pair after wearing another one for two years. SO Comfy and durable and also i can wear them in my workplace. Thanks for creating this amazing shoesAs a person who doesn’t normally wear boat shoes, and someone who doesn’t wear shoes without socks, I can say that these shoes are surprisingly comfortable wearing without socks. The texture of the shoe made me hesitant to wear without socks, but the interior is a comfy fit and didn’t rub or give me blisters.The only downfall I see in these shoes is that they are not a quick dry material. I wore these on a cruise, got them wet and walked in the sand, and since they aren’t magical shoes, they collected a good amount of sand on them. After rinsing then off in the room’s tub, they of course were soaking wet, and stayed very wet or very damp for almost 24 hours… there were no claims of waterproof or quick dry, just as a boat shoe promoted as an active like wearable, would expect a bit more quick drying.I love these shoes, I thought they would be difficult to take care of, but they aren’t. They cleaned up fairly easily, and they are so comfortable.Comfortable for causal wear.very comforable, good lookingComfortable, great traction, looks great without socks, and a nice insole (with vents) for barefoot wear. The reviews that point out the tab in the back have a point- it can rub on your Achilles, especially when new. I fitted a very small bit of moleskin to it while it breaks in and it solved the problem. My only “gripe” is that there aren’t front vents since that’s where MY feet tend to sweat the most. Also, the canvas looks great, but I’d love for Columbia to also make a knit or mesh version of these- especially considering they already have like 4 versions of essentially the same shoe.very light shoe. very comfortable.2nd pair I own. Can be a bit sore (rubbing) until they are worked in enough. But that only took a couple of days of moderate wear. After that, totally comfy. Very 'summer-y'. And I got them at a great priceMen's shoes but I love them! Surprisingly good support. Fairly thick sole but light weight.
